Cloud sprawl is a term for the uncontrolled use of cloud services. Sprawl most commonly occurs when teams spin up overlapping resources or fail to take down instances they no longer use. Cloud sprawl is typically a consequence of a company's inability to control or adequately monitor its cloud usage.
