A network hub, also called an ethernet hub, active hub, repeater hub, or multiport repeater, is a networking device that connects multiple computers or other networking devices and allows them to communicate with each other.
Hubs can only create a small local area network (LAN), but their advantage over more complex networking devices, such as switches, lies in their affordability.
