What Is a Petabyte?

A petabyte (PB) is one of the largest digital data measuring units and equals approximately 1024 terabytes (TB) or 2^50 (1,125,899,906,842,624) bytes (B).

Digital data measuring units of that (and larger) size are not used for everyday computing. Still, they are used to estimate and express data held in complex information technology architectures, such as large data centers and enterprise-grade infrastructure.
