A relational database management system (RDBMS) is a set of programs that enables the interaction with relational database data using the SQL language. The RDBMS software includes all the tools necessary to store, modify, and access the data in tables referred to as relations. Every table contains rows and columns, called records and fields, respectively.
RDBMS is flexible and relatively easy to maintain. The system is designed to handle large volumes of data and complex queries. For that reason, many organizations use relational databases to store and manage data.
