What Is WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get)?

WYSIWYG (an acronym for "What You See Is What You Get") is a type of interface that enables users to view and edit content in a form identical to its final appearance. Word processors are the most common example of WYSIWYG—how you edit and format content is exactly how the document will look when you print it or create a PDF. Besides word processing, WYSIWYG editors are standard tools of choice in website design.
