Private cloud computing is a form of cloud computing in which all hardware and software resources are dedicated exclusively to a single organization (unlike the public cloud, which is open to the general public). Companies typically host a private cloud on-site or at a third-party colocation facility.
The private cloud offers the same benefits as a public cloud (data accessibility, scalability, etc.), but it also provides complete control over the IT environment and better security. Other common names for a private cloud are internal or corporate clouds.
